Utilizing Cloud Connectors in Separate AWS Accounts

There are scenarios where Cloud Connectors may need to be situated in a different AWS account, such as a shared services account or a site components account. In these cases, IAM roles with cross-account access (cross-account IAM roles) can be utilized, along with MCS-provisioned machine catalogs in separate secondary AWS accounts (workload accounts), eliminating the need for additional Cloud Connectors in those accounts.

To facilitate such situations, this feature employs VPC peering and cross-account access via IAM roles, enabling provisioning across various AWS accounts for enterprises managing multiple accounts.

  • VPC Peering: This allows organizations to have Cloud Connectors and provisioned VMs in different regions or accounts to communicate effectively with one another.
  • Cross-Account Access using IAM Roles: This enables the primary account (Cloud Connector account) to assume an IAM role and access AWS resources in the secondary account (machine catalog VMs).

For detailed information, see Cross account provisioning.

Enhanced Session Launch Diagnostics

The redesigned Session Launch Failure Diagnostics page offers an in-depth understanding of session launch issues. It now includes visual representations of the components involved, along with detailed error analyses and recommended actions. Previously, users could only access a Transaction Details panel that enumerated components and identified error locations.

The upgraded page features:

  • Components Overview: This section presents all components implicated in the session launch process, tailored to the specific scenario and failure stage. Notable components include Endpoint, Citrix Workspace, Citrix DaaS, Cloud Connector, Gateway Service, VDA, and StoreFront. The root cause component is distinctly highlighted.
  • Error Details: Comprehensive error messages and contextual information facilitate the rapid identification of the root cause.
  • Transaction Logs: Unprocessed session launch event data is available for extensive troubleshooting and analysis.

These enhancements empower IT administrators to resolve session launch issues more efficiently and effectively. For additional information, please consult the Session Launch Diagnostics documentation.

Citrix is consistently refining its product offerings to deliver optimal solutions for clients. This commitment is focused on enhancing user experience, boosting productivity, simplifying infrastructure management, and ultimately maximizing return on investment (ROI).
