The Evolution of Secure Access 

The landscape of secure access is undergoing rapid transformation. An increasing volume of work is being conducted through Software as a Service (SaaS) and private web applications, with more users connecting from unmanaged devices, partner networks, and various environments. Updates for UHMC Customers 

Citrix announces that UHMC customers now have full access to the Citrix Secure Private Access (SPA) functionality. Previously, access was limited to Windows 365 use cases; however, this update expands entitlement to encompass a broader array of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and VPN replacement scenarios beyond just Windows 365. 

No action is required from UHMC customers, as this feature is now available immediately as part of your entitlement. 

The Importance of the upgrade

ZTNA represents the contemporary standard for secure access. It facilitates application-level, least-privilege access, thereby minimizing the blast radius when compared to broader network access. 

However, understand that real-world environments cannot be transformed overnight. Certain applications and workflows still necessitate VPN-style connectivity during the modernization process. With this UHMC entitlement update, customers can adopt a ZTNA-first strategy while still accommodating VPN and VPN-replacement scenarios as part of a gradual transition away from traditional VPNs.

With the expanded SPA entitlement under UHMC, customers can:
