OAS - WHAT's NEW WITH CITRIX JUNE 2025

Citrix aims to provide new features and product updates to Citrix DaaS customers as soon as they become available. These new releases offer additional value, eliminating any reason to postpone updates. Typically, rolling updates to Citrix DaaS are launched approximately every three weeks.

Please note: It is possible that the updates mentioned in this documentation are being rolled out and are not accessible to all customers at the same time.

Option to extend monitoring of HDX optimization beyond Microsoft Teams.

Citrix Monitor now adds an option to extend the monitoring of HDX optimization beyond Microsoft Teams. Previously, only Microsoft Teams was available for monitoring HDX optimization, showing whether it was optimized or not in the Session Topology screen.

With this new feature, instead of Microsoft Teams, a new parameter called Real-time communications is added on the Session Topology screen.

Currently, only Microsoft Teams is monitored for HDX optimization status. However, this feature provides the possibility of adding more software for monitoring beyond just Microsoft Teams in the future. This feature allows administrators to monitor and troubleshoot applications with and without HDX optimizations, providing a better user experience.

Furthermore, for a detailed explanation, please click "View details" next to the application to access comprehensive information, including its classification under Third-Party Optimization and HDX Optimization.

The Microsoft Teams Slims core is categorized as third-party optimization. Conversely, if an application is not classified as third-party optimization, it is regarded as HDX optimized.

Key features and benefits:

  • Comprehensive monitoring: Monitor and troubleshoot both HDX optimized and non-optimized applications.
  • Detailed insights: View detailed information about the optimization status of applications.

NOTE:

  • To use this new feature, ensure that you are using the Citrix Workspace app for Windows version 2503 and VDA version 2503.

  • For using Microsoft Teams Slims core, you must install the Plug-in manager on the endpoint, configure the allow list for the virtual channel, and ensure that the virtual channel is open.

This feature is only for HDX sessions. For more information, see HDX optimization details.

New Metrics in the Monitor Dashboard

The Citrix Monitor dashboard has been upgraded to include two new metrics that provide valuable insights for administrators:

  • Total Connected Users: This metric indicates the number of users who have established at least one connection in the past 24 hours, as well as over the last seven days. It enables administrators to highlight adoption trends to their executives effectively.
  • Citrix Workspace App Versions in Your Environment: This metric offers a comprehensive overview of the various Citrix Workspace app versions in use across the organization. It aids in version unification by displaying the number of devices operating on different versions. Users can choose to view "All" or filter by specific operating systems from the Platform drop-down menu.

These enhancements deliver critical data points that empower administrators to monitor and manage their environments effectively.

Enhancements to the Cost Savings Page

The following improvements have been implemented on the Cost Savings page to enhance flexibility and provide deeper insights when managing expenses:

  • Service Provider Filter Support: Users can now filter by service providers. If a site utilizes both cloud and on-premises workloads, you can filter by all cloud providers, all on-premises providers, or select individual providers.

NOTE:

The filter is applied immediately upon selection without an apply button.

  • Service provider filter supportability option: You can now filter by service providers. If a site has both cloud and on-premises workloads, you can now filter by all cloud providers, all on-premises providers, or individual providers.

NOTE:

The filter is applied immediately upon selection without an apply button.

  • Enhanced Delivery Group Selection: Previously, users could only select a single delivery group (DG) or all available DGs. The updated functionality now allows for the selection of up to 15 DGs simultaneously. If a site has fewer than 15 DGs, all available DGs can be selected. Additionally, users have the option to exclude specific DGs from their selection, enabling a focused view of data pertaining to the remaining groups.

  • Insights into Failed Machines: The Cost Savings page has been enhanced to provide visibility into machines that are either in a failed state or unregistered. Two new fields have been introduced:

    • Failed State with No Sessions: This field indicates the number of machines that are currently in a failed state and do not have any active sessions.

    • Unregistered with Sessions: This field reflects the count of machines that are in an unregistered state but still have active sessions.

  • Users can view the counts of machines in these states and can take appropriate action based on the reason for failure, the duration of the issue, and the associated delivery group. The counts are presented as clickable links, directing users to the Filters page for further action. The counts encompass both single-session and multi-session machines.

NOTE:

Filters are preserved across page navigation
