Open Architecture Systems (OAS) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, work email, company, phone number and the details of your enquiry — when you complete a form, request a consultation, or subscribe to updates.

When you send an enquiry through a contact form or request a whitepaper, we store your name, work email, company and phone number where you give them, the topic and message or the whitepaper you requested, the page you sent it from, and the time and version of your consent. We send every enquiry to our sales team by email. We send a whitepaper request to our sales team by email when you are new to us. We keep this information for 24 months and delete it within three months after that. To have your details erased sooner, email info@oas.co.za.

Website Analytics

We use two analytics services to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and which device, browser and approximate location (country or city) they use. We do not use them to identify you, and we do not combine them with the details you give us in a form.

  • Google Analytics. Run by Google. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell one visit from the next and to count returning visitors. Google processes this information on our behalf and may process it outside South Africa. Google Analytics does not store your IP address. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and the website keeps working without them.
  • Vercel Web Analytics. Run by our hosting provider, Vercel. It sets no cookies and counts visits in aggregate, without a record of who you are.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, provide the services you request, communicate relevant updates, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We process your information on the basis of your consent and our legitimate business interests.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us operate our business, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.

Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure.

Your Rights

Under POPIA you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy or as required by law.
